The software worked much better in a Windows environment, however I couldn't use the hardware after a very short period of use. I decided to reload my MacBook to ensure that it wasn't my load and it still would not run correctly. It was highly buggy because you can choose what image format you want to save but it was never what you chose. I bought this to use for my MacBook Pro but the software that came with it was horrible. All the darks were almost completely black so you couldn't make out what it was that was scanned. And finally the photos scanned would only show me the brights but not the darks. I started getting a haze on the edges of the photos I scanned in.
